A constant responsibility
Our commitment to a cleaner and greener environment starts with our engines - both petrol and diesel - that comply with strict EU emission norms. Additionally, we are constantly working to further improv the engines, control units, gear adjustment, aerodynamics, reducing body weight and exploring the use of alternative fuels.
For example, the Fabia with the 1.2 TDI CR DPF/55 kW engine achieves CO2 emission levels of just 90 g/km and all the ŠKODA models don’t exceed the level of 140 g/km. Emission levels (CO2, solid particles, NOx, etc.) have been further reduced by developing newer models and optimising current technologies. This keeps us on track to achieve the EU5 future emissions regulation as well as the fleet consumption norms, approved by the European Parliament for the year 2012.
Greenline
In our quest for minimum carbon emissions, we have created the Greenline range of ŠKODAs. Available for most of our models, the Greenline variants achieve even higher fuel efficiency and cost savings than the regular models. This is primarily made possible by modifying engine and gearbox settings, reducing aerodynamic drag and introducing a diesel particle filter (DPF), thanks to which the carbon emissions stay way under the stipulated limits. For example, the Fabia and Fabia Combi models bearing the Greenline labels emit just 89 g/km, an impressive less than their standard versions.
