Safety – area where we make no compromises

Increases in the standard of passive and active safety are the subject of constant, maximum attention.

In the field of the safety of passengers and others involved in road traffic we make no compromises and you can only find the most advanced technology in our cars!

This is shown by the fact that the Octavia can be equipped, for example, with an ESP electronic stabilisation system, including the cooperating systems ABS, EBV, MSR, ASR, EDS, HBA, DSR and ESBS! In addition the basic equipment includes airbags for the driver and front passenger, side front and head airbags or deactivation of the front passenger airbag.

The new Octavia is also equiped with a fourth-generation immobiliser, and the tag with the VIN and EAN codes. Safety lights on the panelling of the front doors, a system that automatically closes off the fuel supply in case of an accident and an automatic activation of the warning lights during sudden braking are the other important safety elements.

ESP Stabilisation System

The ESP electronic stabilisation system is one of the most advanced safety elements, together with the  ABS, EBV, MSR, ASR, EDS, HBA, DSR and ESBS systems.

WOKS headrests

The WOKS headrests in the front are a main innovation in the field of passive safety. Their new shape better protects the cervical vertebrae of those travelling in the front seats during a rear impact. They therefore significantly contribute to the passive safety of passengers in the front seats of the new Octavia.

Three-point seat belts

Three-point seat belts on all seats are a matter of course in the new Octavia. On the front seats the height of the belts can be adjusted and there are retractors which, during a front impact, are activated in co-operation with the driver’s and front passenger’s airbags.

Light Assistant

With the light assistant you can, as you require and depending on the situation, choose various lighting regimes: Coming Home (lighting the way to your home after arrival), Leaving home (lighting when going to your car), Tunnel Light (automatically switching on when the intensity of external light drops) and automatic Day Light.
