The new surround parking sensors complement the Park Assist perfectly. The parking sensors assist the driver with parking and work in conjunction with all of the infotainment systems available for the KODIAQ.
When reverse gear is engaged, the camera in the tailgate is activated and the image is shown on the infotainment system display. Dynamic guide lines laid over the image show the direction in which the vehicle would go with the position of the steering wheel or indicate when it should be turned.
The KODIAQ’s state-of-the-art hands free parking doesn’t just give you greater comfort and orientation while parking. It gives you confidence to park like a pro every time. Hands free parking minimises the hassle of parking in tight spots by automatically selecting an appropriate parking place in a row of parallel or perpendicularly parked vehicles. When parallel parking, it only needs a space 60 cm longer than the car itself. In today’s crowded cities and space-starved streets, hands-free parking is a blessing indeed.
Handsfree Parking helps the driver by automatically carrying out the optimal steering wheel movements, the driver just has to accelerate and brake.
The ŠKODA KODIAQ can search for a suitable parking spot at speeds of up to 40 km/h. Once the sensors find a space large enough (i.e. length of the car + 60 cm), the system guides the driver in.
The system warns of the potential risk of collision with obstacles during parking by drawing data from sensors, the driving parameters and the steering wheel angle.
