Mumbai, September 04, 2026 – Back by popular demand, the Octavia RS returns to India with Škoda Auto India announcing a second limited batch of just 50 units across the country. Following the overwhelming response to the performance sedan introduced during last year’s festive season, the new batch gives enthusiasts another opportunity to own one of Škoda’s most celebrated driver-focused nameplates. As the Octavia marks 30 years globally, the RS continues its legacy of blending thrilling performance, everyday practicality and unmistakable character. The model was recently showcased on 18th August at Škoda Auto India’s Sedan Legacy event alongside the new Slavia and the all-new Superb, reaffirming the brand’s commitment to its sedan heritage. Bookings for the second batch of the Octavia RS opened the same day.

The Octavia RS is powered by a 2.0 TSI turbocharged petrol engine delivering 195 kW (265 PS) and 370 Nm. Paired with a 7-speed DSG, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds and reaches an electronically limited 250 km/h. Progressive steering, sports suspension and an advanced chassis setup sharpen handling and make every drive more engaging.

Statement on Wheels

The Octavia RS pairs Škoda’s bold design language with a sharper, sportier stance. Full LED Matrix headlights, LED tail lamps with dynamic indicators, glossy black details and 19-inch Elias anthracite alloy wheels with 225/40 R19 sports tyres underline its performance intent. Its 4,709 mm length, 1,829 mm width, 1,457 mm height and 2,677 mm wheelbase give it dynamic proportions, while a 600-litre boot, expandable to 1,555 litres, preserves everyday practicality. The second batch is available in Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black.

Inside, the Octavia RS blends sportiness with premium comfort. Suedia Leather upholstery with red contrast stitching, electrically adjustable Sports front seats with memory, heating and massage functions, ambient lighting and a Virtual Cockpit set the tone. Three-zone climate control, wireless charging and a 32.77 cm infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay add convenience for spirited drives and everyday use.

The Octavia RS comes equipped with Škoda’s advanced ADAS suite, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Assist and Intelligent Park Assist. Safety and convenience are further enhanced by 10 airbags, a 360-degree Area View camera, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, a Head-Up Display, driving stability systems, a Canton 675W 11-speaker sound system with subwoofer, an electrically operated boot with virtual pedal and a host of Simply Clever features.

Legacy and lore

RS, short for Rally Sport, is deeply rooted in Škoda Auto’s 125-year motorsport legacy. First used on the 180 RS and 200 RS prototypes in 1974, the badge soon became synonymous with competition success through the 130 RS, including victories at the 1977 Rallye Monte-Carlo. In 2000, Škoda brought the RS badge to a production car for the first time with the Octavia RS. The same nameplate arrived in India in 2004 as the country’s first-ever turbocharged petrol car.

Since then, the Octavia RS has earned a cult following among driving enthusiasts in India and worldwide. Its legacy continued in India through the Laura RS, Octavia RS 230 and Octavia RS 245, with the latest Octavia RS raising the benchmark again with 265 PS of performance and a 600-litre boot.
