Mumbai, September 12, 2024 – Škoda Auto India’s most important launch, the upcoming Kylaq SUV adds yet another first to its cap. After being named via a nationwide naming campaign, the Kylaq will now be associating itself with a reputed artist for designing the camouflage for itself. Harun Robert a.k.a Rob will be conducting an interactive session with Fans of Škoda to come up with a design for the camouflage that the Kylaq will wear as it undergoes further testing in India.
Commenting on the association, Mr. Petr Janeba, Brand Director, Škoda Auto India said, "Our all new Kylaq is a car intended to democratise European technology on our roads across India. I am looking forward to the initial feedback about the driving capabilities of Kylaq, which is key for us at Škoda Auto India and something that we are all very proud of. We want our customers and Fans of Škoda to be part of every milestone in this launch. Which is why we had the naming campaign, with the belief that the people of India should name our all-new SUV. Our association with the fantastic design artist Rob and our fans, who together, will come up with a camouflage for the Kylaq is the next step in this journey. The camouflage is to ensure the Kylaq stays covered when undergoing testing, and its design will reflect the diversity of the people of India.”

The Škoda Kylaq
The upcoming Kylaq is Škoda Auto India’s first ever foray into the compact SUV segment. Based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, like the Kushaq SUV and the Slavia sedan, the Kylaq will be the company’s first implementation of the Modern Solid design language in India. It will also have a high ground clearance and space around the wheel for tackling uneven road surfaces lending the car that SUV character.
The Kylaq is currently undergoing rigorous testing across India and the company is preparing for production with local supplier ramp-ups. Based on a larger car platform, the compact SUV will have the ‘big car’ feel within a compact footprint. The Kylaq, due in 2025, will be Škoda Auto India’s third all-new product developed for India after the Kushaq introduced in 2021 and the Slavia that hit roads in 2022.
