Mumbai, 26 May 2020: The pioneering ŠKODA AUTO India Virtual Conference witnessed the unveiling of the new RAPID 1.0 TSI, the luxurious new SUPERB as well as the newest member of its SUV family: the all-new KAROQ at a starting price of INR 7.49 Lakh, INR 29.99 Lakh and INR 24.99 Lakh respectively. ŠKODA AUTO India put forth its powertrain and fuel strategy in view of the Bharat Stage 6 emission norms and safety standards while demonstrating a new range of Turbocharged Stratified Injection (or TSI) engine options: 1.0 TSI, 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TSI.
The ŠKODA RAPID will house the new 1.0 TSI petrol engine with a power output of 110 PS (81 kW) and a fuel efficiency of 18.97 kmpl. The SUPERB range, Laurin & Klement and SportLine, will house the new 190 PS (140 kW) 2.0 TSI petrol engine that accelerates from a standstill to a 100 km/h in mere 7.7 seconds and has a top speed of 239 km/h. The all-new KAROQ will house the new 150 PS (110 kW) 1.5 TSI petrol engine mated with an automatic seven speed DSG gearbox delivering a fuel efficiency figure of 16.95 kmpl (high phase WLTP) and a top speed of 202 km/h.

MODEL OFFENSIVE CAMPAIGN
At the heart of the new ŠKODA RAPID is an incredible new 1.0 TSI petrol engine that fosters an astounding 110 PS (81 kW) of power at 5000 rpm and 175 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm. The fuel efficiency too is exemplary. The new RAPID 1.0 TSI, with the six speed manual transmission, offers 18.97 kmpl under standard test conditions. When compared with the outgoing 1.6 MPI engine, the new ŠKODA RAPID 1.0 TSI offers a 5% upsurge in power and a 14% rise in torque output. At the same time, the new RAPID offers a 23% increase in fuel efficiency against the previous motor.
The new 2.0 TSI petrol engine, mated with an automatic seven speed DSG gearbox, is at the core of the new ŠKODA SUPERB range: the new Laurin & Klement and new SportLine. It delivers 190 PS (140 kW) of power and a peak torque output of 320 Nm while delivering a fuel efficiency figure of 15.10 kmpl. It accelerates from a standstill to a 100 km/h in mere 7.7 seconds and has a top speed of 239 km/h.
The new KAROQ’s bold styling and class leading space may grab the headlines, but the car’s inner workings tell an equally compelling tale. The new 1.5 TSI petrol engine, mated with an automatic seven speed DSG gearbox, delivers 150 PS (110 kW) of power and a peak torque output of 250 Nm, while delivering a fuel efficiency figure of 16.95 kmpl (high phase WLTP) and a top speed of 202 km/h. With Active Cylinder Technology, to further boost the fuel economy, two of the four cylinders in the TSI powertrain are deactivated, in view of the power requirement. Now that’s Simply Clever!
